Auction Rules

These terms apply to PoolBid marketplace use. A Florida lawyer should review them before you treat this pack as production-grade.

Auctions run on a clock the homeowner or an admin sets — default 30 minutes, adjustable between 5 and 120 minutes. Contractors may only bid lower than their current bid. Every bid is timestamped. Server time breaks ties.

If a qualifying bid arrives with two minutes or less remaining, the auction extends by two minutes (configurable) and displays EXTENDED — NEW BID RECEIVED.

The homeowner may configure whether contractors see exact prices, only the gap to the leader, or only rank. Firm names stay anonymous while the auction is live.

Final & Best Offer, if opened, gives each remaining contractor one locked submission window.

PoolBid does not auto-suggest amounts below a contractor's stated minimum unless the contractor confirms.

Auction participation does not release homeowner contact. Names and addresses stay hidden until the homeowner awards or authorizes a specific contractor.
